Hard to find one with this much shape, pedigree and ride that is dappled steel gray! This guy is easy on the eyes! Steel as we affectionately call him is very versatile and always a pleasure to ride. He knows the reining maneuvers with pretty spins, lead changes, and a nice sliding stop. He is a pretty mover with a comfortable jog and smooth slow lope on a draped rein. Steel has been successfully shown locally by a youth in the Ranch Versatility classes, taken to playdays , and 4-H events. Steel is happy and willing to do whatever you throw his way. He has absolutely no silly business about him and is simply a fun horse to own. Steel has spent the past 3 summers in southern AZ on a large cattle operation being ridden by a youth kid. He has gathered huge sections that are mountainous, rocky and full of cactus. He has been used in the branding pens and sorted numerous pairs of cattle. He is no stranger to wet saddle pads and a long day of work. He’s a great partner to have all over the ranch. Steel is amazing out on the trails and loves to leisurely cruise wherever his rider wants to go. He’s confident alone and good with a group. Nothing bothers or spooks him on the trails and he’s happy to go through running rivers, deep mud, navigate around prickly cactus, and is very sure footed in mountainous terrain. He’s accustomed to wildlife, crazy dogs, blowing tarps, heavy machinery and loud gunfire. Steel lays down with a touch of the finger and you can climb on him bridle-less and bareback and go whenever your heart desires. He’s a sweet, affectionate, and very kind gelding. Super easy to catch and just an all around good boy. Always gentle, quiet and sane and doesn’t have to be ridden consistently. He’s trained and stays that way! Steel’s grand sire is Dual Rey, AQHA Hall of Fame and #2 All Time Leading Cutting Sire, producing earners of $50,500,000+. His dam is an own daughter of one of our personal favorite stallions, PLAYGUN, earner of $183,530 and an All Time Leading cutting and cowhorse sire, producing over $9,700,000 and multiple world champions in multiple events. Offered at the Best Of The West in Aiken, SC on October 1. Absentee, phone & online bidding available. https://bestofthewesthorses.com/ Or call (406) 671-7238 for more info.
